  • Are your cases lockable?    We do offer several cases with the ability to lock and secure the contents. All of our GKPE-TSA keyboard cases, GPE-TSA guitar cases, and GR-Standard rack cases have locks (excludes shallow racks) . The GE-DRAWER metal rack drawers include a lock knock out and lock and key (not available on shallow models). Our metal racks are able to be equipped with a Lock Kit for the doors at an additional charge.
  • I don't see my instrument/hardware on your cross-reference. How can I know what case will fit?    While we do strive to keep our information as up to date as possible, new instruments are being released every day and may not be on our list. As well, The number of vintage instruments now available can far outstrip our ability to keep up with them. Please use our "Search By Dimension" tool or contact us via the Suggest a Manufacturer page with the dimensions of your instrument and we will try our best to find something that meets your needs.
  • What are 'TSA' Latches?    The Transportation Safety Administration sets the guidelines for all luggage brought onto flights into, out of, and within the United States. A TSA latch has a special lock that TSA inspectors can access to perform their inspections. This allows you to keep your cases safely locked when traveling.
  • What does 'TSA' stand for?    "TSA" stands for Transportation Safety Administration. These are the men and women that inspect you and your luggage as you move through the airport. Because of TSA regulations all checked luggage, including instrument cases, must be left unlocked unless equipped with TSA-approved latches.
  • Can I stack Gator cases on top of each other?    Most of our Gator Rack Cases are designed to be stacked together. The exception to this are shallow racks and the G-PRO racks which only stack with other racks in the same series. 
  • Will the G-BUS-8 pedal board power supply work with my pedal?    The G-BUS-8 will work with any pedal that runs on 9v or 18v power and has a negative pin/positive sheath power plug. Please check your manufacturer's documentation to verify compatibility before use.
  • I want to use a Gator case for a different purpose than is listed. Is this possible?    Gator Cases encourages creative uses for our products. As long as you're not doing anything that would void the warranty, go ahead! If it's a really cool idea, send us a picture and we may feature you in our gallery!
  • Can you make me a custom case?    Gator Cases offers custom cut drum and percussion cases. Just ask your local Gator dealer for more information!
  • I saw a picture of your case on another website and it looks different. What gives?    The internet is a big place and sometimes pictures do persist even after we have resdesigned a particular model. For the most up-to-date images, please refer to GatorCases.com
  • My LCD Lift case is stuck in the fully extended position. Help!    The hydraulics in the LCD lift case are designed to lift plasma televisions which can be quite heavy in the larger sizes. If you are using a monitor that is signifigantly lighter you may need to apply more downward force to bring it down than normal. If you are still having trouble please contact our warranty department here.
  • I want to become a Gator dealer. How do I do that?    If you are looking to re-sell Gator products in your retail or online store front, please submit a Dealer Request.
  • My band wants to be endorsed by Gator Cases. Do you offer artist endorsements?    We are accepting endorsement requests via our Info Line, please be sure to include you or your bands website, contact information, and link to electronic press kit (if available). Once your request is submitted it will be sent to our Artist Relations Manager for review.
  • Are the casters on your cases lockable?    Gator Cases currently offers several models with lockable casters. These models include all G-TOUR models with casters as well as GRC-10X11PU, GRC-10X12PU, GRC-12x10PU, GRC-BASE-10, GRC-BASE-14, and the G-LCD Roto cases.
  • Do the floor standing metal racks include casters?    All floor-standing Gator racks do not come with casters installed. These are available separetly as either 2" or 2.5" casters. These can be ordered from any Gator Cases dealer.
  • My mixer case came with a foam wedge and little corner pieces, what are these for?    The foam wedge is included in order to elevate the rear of your mixer towards the operator for easier manipulation of the controls. The corner pieces are designed to secure your mixer and keep it from bumping into the side walls of the case while in transit.
  • I bought my gator case from a friend, is it still under warranty?    Gator Cases warranty only covers cases bought directly from an authorized dealer. Cases bought used or from an unauthorized reseller are not covered under the Gator Cases warranty program.
  • How long is the warranty on my Gator case?    Gator Cases provides a limited lifetime warranty against defects on all our cases. This means that if you are the original owner and have a defect in your case, we will fix or replace it at our cost. If you have had your case for less than 30 days, Gator Cases will take care of all shipping, repair, or replacement costs. If you have had the case for more than 30 days, we will ask that you ship the case to us at your expense.
  • What does Limited lifetime warranty mean?    "Limited" refers to what our warranty covers, i.e. Defects. All damage caused by normal wear and tear, abuse, or other factors introduced after the case has been sold will be not covered under warranty, though we may be able to repair your case for a reasonable sum.
  • What is "normal wear and tear"?    This refers to the average amount of wear on a particular case during a particular period of time. Our repair technicians are highly trained to determine whether damage to a case is due to a defect in it's manufacturing or just the normal wear that occurs from using the case in its intended purpose. As well, We will always give the benefit of the doubt to the customer in any case where the circumstances are not clear.
  • I lost my warranty card. Can I still be covered under warranty?    You absolutely can. We will need some sort of proof of purchase though. Luckily, with the advances in computer technology, most retailers these days can keep a record of your purchases in case you need a copy of the receipt in the future. Please check with your retailer to determine if they offer this service.
  • How can I get replacement parts for my case/s?    Replacement parts are handled in the same manner as all other warranty requests. Please fill out our Warranty Claim Form and we will provide the parts as soon as we are able to.
  • What is a 'shock' rack?    Gator Shock Racks are equipped with a floating suspension system that provides 360-degrees of air ventilation and acts as a shock absorber, keeping your equipment safe from jostles and bumps.
  • I just bought a G-PRO rack, but it does not have rear rails, how can I get these?    Included with your G-PRO rack there should be a postcard-sized rack rail order form. All you need to do is fill out the form and send it to us with a check or money order for $9.99 to cover shipping and handling. Rear rack rails usually take one week to arrive once we receive the order form. If you do not have the order form, you can send an email to info@gatorcases.com to receive one.
  • What does the "U" mean on rack cases?    The U designation (ex. 4U, 6U, 8U, etc) designates the number of rack "U"nits in a particular case. One (1) rack unit equals 1.75" in height. Most rack mountable equipment comes in 1U, 2U, and 4U sizes. More rack units mean a taller case and more freedom to expand and mix and match components.
  • What is the difference between the GR-Series racks and the G-PRO racks?    The G-PRO racks are made using a roto-molding process in our USA factory. The benefit of this in a rack case is that the handles are actually part of the case and therefore quite a bit stronger. The GR-series racks have the advantage of having the rear rack rails included and being lockable. The GR-series is also available in shallow versions while the G-PRO are not.
  • Are your rack cases available with wheels?    We offer an option for built-in wheels on both the GR-L series (4U, 6U, 8U, & 10U) and our G-PRO series (4U, 6U, & 8U). Caster kits are available for all of our rack cases as well.
  • I do not see my drum size available on your website, can you make a case to fit my drum?    While there are a few exceptions, Generally we can make a drum case to fit anything you can throw at us. Please contact our Info Line for specific sizing information
  • I want drum cases that really stand out. Are custom colors possible?    While we can't do a matching dragon inlay like the one on your sweet PRS guitar, we do offer several custom colors for our percussion cases. These include Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Purple, and Green. Please keep in mind that all custom colors add about a week to the manufacturing process.
  • I have specialized mounting hardware on my drums. Will they fit in your cases?    The short answer is... Probably. All of our drum case model numbers are based on the assumption of the shells have standard mounting hardware. If you have non-standard hardware (greater than 2")  you will mostly likely need to go with the next shell size up. Please contact our Info Line to determing the appropriate model to order.
  • What does ATA stand for, and why is it important?    ATA stands for the Air Transport Association. What it means in a nutshell is, a case with an ATA rating is safe to travel with and be checked on an airplane. A more formal definition would state that each ATA rated case is tested to simulate 100 common carrier (air, land, sea) shipments. All normal and expected rough handling environments are taken into consideration, such as dropping from a height of 36" or vibration created from traveling in the belly of an airplane or in the bed of a truck traveling down at highway at 70 mph. However, ATA specs DO NOT cover mishandling or improper use, say if the case falls out of the back of a truck, lands in the middle of a busy highway, then is tossed off the road and lands into a river, floats downstream, then is struck by lightning. ATA specs won't do much in a situation like this, so lets hope you are never faced with such a horrible turn of events!
  • What are the current regulations regarding traveling on an airplane with a musical instrument?   The rule requires that each U.S. carrier subject to this regulation allow a passenger to carry into the cabin and stow a small musical instrument, such as a violin or a guitar, in a suitable baggage compartment, such as the overhead bin or a closet, or under the seats, in accordance with FAA safety regulations and the carrier’s FAA-approved carry-on baggage program.
