We all should know Gator Cases by now. They have been around since before many of us were playing music and have been delivering transport and storage solutions for musicians and roadies alike. So, this month I was given a couple of Gator products to look at, both of which come together as the perfect travel combination for the gigging guitarist. The G-MULTIFX-2411 gig bag is ready to get your effects board and leads all ready to go and the GPE-ELEC-TSA will ensure you electric guitar is well taken care of where ever you take it.
Sure, it doesnt have a trendy model name, just an SKU code to distinguish it from other models in the range, but Gator arent so much about branding as they are about protecting your gear. This lightweight, yet sturdy case is the perfect fit for the Strat I happened the have leaning up against the wall in my living room. It sits within the plush velvet lining snuggly and doesnt move about when the lid is closed. Most importantly, the extended neck ridge in the case lining ensures the guitars neck is firmly supported to prevent damage in transit. The headstock cavity is also recessed to ensure guitars with angled headstocks are also catered for. Externally, the case is fitted with TSA approved latches, one which can be locked even when putting the case through airport security and into a planes luggage hold. So, you should have no trouble getting your guitar to travel safely and securely the world over and not have to worry too much about the excess baggage fees.
As the name suggests, this unit is a carry back for multi effects boards. Its dimensions measure 24 inches by 11 inches, making it suitable for just about any multi effects unit on the market, with room for all your leads in the front pocket. Its small enough to smuggle on as carry-on luggage when you travel by air and can even accommodate many pedal boards too, if you prefer to use a variety of pedals. The exterior is made with a tough nylon weave and the soft padding inside keeps your pedals safe from bumps and scratches between gigs.
